Designing fiber optic cabling systems is a training course that will teach the fundamentals of designing fiber optical cabling systems for commercial buildings, residential buildings, and between buildings in a campus environment. This training course will describe the function of optical transmitters and optical receivers. This training course will also describe different types of optical fiber cable and the connection and termination components for each. Designing fiber optic cabling systems will describe the steps for performing link engineering to verify that a fiber optic cabling system will work for different network technologies including: 10Base-F, 100Base-X, 1000Base-X, FDDI and ATM.
